SecureHealth Expands Onsite COVID-19 Testing Beyond Virginia

Healthcare monitoring and testing company, SecureHealth, announced its decision to expand its large scale COVID-19 testing beyond Virginia.

A study published by researchers at Yale and Harvard Universities stated that a safe way for students to return to campus would be to administer rapid COVID-19 tests every two days and comply with strict behavioral strategies.

Richmond-based urgent care chain launches business-focused offshoot

A spinoff from the founders of a local urgent care chain has a new sort of patient in mind: businesses as they reopen and attempt to stay open during the pandemic.

SecureHealth, established by co-founders of BetterMed, offers on-site testing, monitoring and other support measures for companies.

BetterMed, which has eight locations in the Richmond area, is one of several urgent care companies that pivoted to coronavirus testing during the pandemic as demand for its regular services dropped off. During that time, BetterMed added testing services aimed specifically at businesses in addition to its testing of individuals.

SecureHealth was split off as a separate company in early May.

Startup Spotlight: SecureHealth now offering on-site COVID-19 testing at businesses

A Richmond-area startup company is now contracting with businesses and other organizations to offer on-site employee testing for the coronavirus to help prevent the spread of the disease.

The company, SecureHealth, already has provided several on-site test for COVID-19 for employees of the Greater Richmond Transit Co., or GRTC, this month. The company also started testing some students returning to the University of Richmond.

SecureHealth was founded this spring by Dr. Mark Rausch and Dr. Shawn Borich, who are both medical directors for BetterMed, an urgent care

SecureHealth Launches On-site COVID-19 Testing

Yesterday we announced our agreement with the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) to provide on-site COVID-19 testing as well as surveillance and monitoring for their employees. Today we begin on-site testing for students at the University of Richmond.

“As the world we live in continues to evolve, the need and desire for folks to get back to work and be a part of their community grows,” Dr. Mark Rausch, CEO, SecureHealth said. “As humans, we are social beings, but we cannot ignore the risks COVID-19 poses. GRTC to host on-site COVID-19 testing for employees

GRTC will host its first voluntary, on-site COVID-19 testing event for GRTC and First Transit employees on Monday, June 1. Testing will be conducted by SecureHealth, a regionally owned and operated urgent care provider, with up to 200 tests possible per testing day.
